The Congenital Heart Defects Families Association is a Kansas City areanot-for-profit incorporated in the state of Kansas as not for profit corporationworking to bring comfort and support to area families affected by congenitalheart defects. Support groups, distribution of educational literature, andcomfort items for children undergoing cardiac procedures are theAssociation's main focus. Additionally, the Association functions to raisemoney and awareness to promote congenital heart defects research through avariety of projects. One hundred percent volunteer run, the CHD FamiliesAssociation strives to maximize investment in its work, not its overhead. Weare the only support system in the Kansas City area for children with heartdefects and their families. | |

So many of you already know the answer to this question as you have been supported in some way by the Associationduring your new role as part of a “CHD family.” Whether it was by a blanket being delivered to your child after heartsurgery, a hospital visit from a friendly face who has walked your path before, or the comfort of our support group andbulletin board, we can’t exist without donations. | |
